How to Extract Shipping Labels from Invoice PDFs (Amazon, Flipkart, Meesho)
When you download shipping documents from Indian marketplaces, the shipping label and tax invoice are often bundled into a single PDF. Manually separating them wastes time, especially during bulk dispatch. Here's how to extract just the shipping labels automatically.
Why Marketplaces Bundle Labels and Invoices
Amazon, Flipkart, and Meesho each handle label PDFs differently:
- Amazon: Generates a multi-page PDF where each order gets a shipping label page and a separate tax invoice page. You need to skip the invoice pages entirely.
- Flipkart: Places the shipping label on the top half of the page with a dashed cut-line, and the invoice section below.
- Meesho: Combines labels and tax invoices on the same page, using "Tax Invoice" markers to separate them.
The Manual Way (And Why It's Painful)
Without automation, sellers resort to:
- Opening each PDF in a viewer and manually selecting pages to print
- Using generic PDF editors to crop individual pages one by one
- Printing entire documents and physically cutting out labels with scissors
For 5 orders this is tolerable. For 50+ orders daily, it becomes a serious bottleneck in your dispatch workflow.
